About this page

Setting the scene! This section explains this model of reflection upon our journey that can be seen here in this webpage and the thinking behind the decisions ...

A considerable amount of time and thinking has gone into the most effective way to reflect upon and document our journey over the past twelve months. We are still not convinced that we have it totally right but we hope our readers find it valuable.

As a team and in our individual schools we have explored a variety of approaches to reflective practice and we have considered a variety of models of reflective practice, including Neville Johnson's 'Ready, Aim Fire' model and those of Guskey and O'Mahony.

In the end, we developed our own model of reflection. Our resulting model has four components in a cycle of reflection:

We used this model of reflection of a way of recording the minutes of our meetings, a way of relecting on our individual practice, a way of assisting students to reflect and, ultimately, we are using it on this webpage to document our journey.
